Counting ButterfliesBeth is counting butterflies, as many as she can see  from her little chair on wheels. She counts each one, be they  red, or blue, or gold. She counts them all, save the purple ones.  They are too pretty to be counted, she says. Too pretty to give a  
number. Someone needs to invent a bigger number, so she can  
count the purple butterflies.   
Beth comes to the garden because of the butterflies. Comes to the  garden in her little chair on wheels. She comes just to see them,  because she can't see all the pretty butterflies in the hospital, even  if they're painted on the wall. She counts the Counting Butterflies

Flyers of Far Star pt. 3   Bartholomew was having a dream. His wings were stretched as far as they could go, catching the silver radiance that welled up from beneath him. His fellows were all around, singing and dancing in the air, as happy as he simply to fly. There were others too, a variety of creatures not like himself, but all of which basked in the radiance that washed over them all.     Soaring effortlessly, the radiant light below was replaced with the fertile ground of the island, and he felt the soft, silky grass tickle his paws as he brushed against the surface.
